All drivers of buses and trolleybuses from the Moldovan capital will be subjected to more rigorous verifications. The controls will be boosted, after a 12-year-old child died in a trolleybus accident.
Thus, decision-makers will verify the physical and psychological state of drivers. At the same time, they will analyze the records of drivers and all incidents and complaints in which they were involved. The verifications will also regard the fulfillment of the functional obligations and drivers’ regular participation in compulsory trainings as to the observance of the road traffic regulations.
“Following verifications, all needed measures will be undertaken, beginning with disciplinary/financial sanctions, up to dismissals from office. It is important that drivers observe the traffic laws and regulations and are subjected to verifications of safety, in order to make sure that the passengers and the participants in the traffic are in safety,” the Chisinau Electric Transport Administration said.
On March 24, a 12-year-old minor girl died, after she had been wounded in an accident by a trolleybus in the Ciocana district of Chisinau. An inquiry was initiated on this case. The driver of the trolleybus was detained for 72 hours. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
