Sixteen Georgian wines are being showcased at Foodex Japan, an annual international food and beverage exhibition in Tokyo, the Georgian National Wine Agency reports.
The event is enabling Georgian companies to promote their products, establish themselves in the Japanese market and find distributor partners in the country.
The event also features representatives of the Agency itself looking for networking opportunities with Japanese marketing and consulting companies.
Foodex Japan was the event that hosted the first large-scale presentation of Georgian wines in the country in 2014, the state body pointed out in its summary of the event.
Japanese journalists have also been hosted in Georgia by the Agency in projects for introducing them to the country’s winemaking culture and produce.
Georgian companies exported 231,000 litres of Georgian wine to Japan last year, up by 68% YoY. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
