The Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), at a meeting on January 30, ruled the providing of assets from reserves of the Interior Ministry (MAI) and Health Ministry as free of charge international assistance for Ukraine.
The overall value of the consignment is of about 16.8 million lei. It will arrive in Ukraine in early February. The batch of assistance contains more types of medicines, equipment for the energy sector, as well as tents, sets of bet clothes, plates and dishes, medical masks and clothes.
“The Ukrainian people needs our help, of all those who think that the war cannot bring but destruction and suffering. We are, in continuation, with them, hoping that we can contribute, at least by a little, to the needs of the people and to the end of this unjust war,” Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said.
Most assistance represents assets from reserves of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. They consist of tents, blankets, mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, towels, sets of plates and dishes, washable overalls, medical masks, latex gloves and rubber boots.
Other components of the donation represent more types of medicines (antibiotics, anaesthetic medication, perfusion systems, immunostimulators), as well as assets needed for the reestablishment of the energy system hit by bombardments (cables, cut-outs, transformers, switches).
The current consignment of humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine is the fourth one.
The CSE also members approved decisions concerning the covering of the expenses borne in the process of management of refugees’ crisis. Thus, 327,300 lei from the government’s intervention fund will be allocated for the maintenance of the temporary placement centres, set up by local public authorities of the first level and 3,952.4 thousand lei for the second-level ones. 1,582.7 thousand lei will be allocated for covering the costs for the work of the centres created by state enterprises, non-commercial organizations and public sector institutions subordinated with the Education and Research Ministry, Labour and Social Protection Ministry.
Another CSE decision refers to the mechanism of monitoring the work of private people and legal entities, included in the list of USA’s sanctions. As a result of the modifications, the activities and transactions the reporting entities should abstain from will be clearly envisaged. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
