Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak held a regular meeting via videoconference to discuss the supply of equipment needed to repair Ukraine’s power grid.
“Speed is very important to us. This is the key point. Millions of Ukrainians have been suffering for several months now and do not have basic amenities,” Yermak said, the President’s Office informs.
As noted, the meeting participants discussed the possibilities of accelerating the supply of equipment to Ukraine to restore the energy system and provide citizens with electricity. They also drew attention to the possibility of manufacturing some of the necessary power equipment in Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt, representatives of the G7 countries, the European Union and its institutions, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program UNDP and USAID.
The Ukrainian side was represented by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova, Advisor to the Minister of Energy Olena Zerkal and others.
