In 2022, every tenth entrepreneur from the Republic of Moldova received support from the state through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), and the volume of financing granted in the form of grants, financial guarantees or subsidies was about 720 million lei, ODA director Dumitru Pintea reported.
“Thus, in 2022, 1375 enterprises were supported through various programs. Among them, 541 companies accessed non-refundable financing in the total amount of about 162 million lei, which maintained or created about 3300 jobs. Financial guarantees worth 554 million lei were offered to 469 businesses, which supported loans of about 1 billion lei. At the same time, for another 86 businesses, the expenses for participating in exhibitions were partially reimbursed, and 279 companies benefited from the support infrastructure of the 11 business incubators,” said Dumitru Pintea.
Minister of Economy Dumitru Alaiba said that entrepreneurs must see the authorities as a support and not an obstacle.
“In 2023, we will continue the things started so that entrepreneurs have financial tools at their fingertips, without artificial barriers, and we will continue to improve the way we support the business environment. Entrepreneurs must see the state as a help, a support, and not an obstacle. That’s the big change we want to achieve this year. We will provide new financing through ODA, we will continue to simplify the way of doing business in the Republic of Moldova, we will bring new investments, we will advance in the digitization process and we will remove all possible barriers to the business environment,” he said.
This year, ODA plans to launch four new programs that will support the economic empowerment of women (Women in Business), small businesses (Small Producers), increasing export capacities (Local Suppliers) and the development of agro-pensions (Rural Tourism). (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
