The Cabinet of Ministers has regularized working conditions for foreigners and stateless persons in Ukraine by approving sample documents required to obtain or extend validity of relevant permits. The same decision, adopted at a Government meeting on January 24, regulates and brings in line with the applicable legislation the rules for employment of gig specialists from among foreigners and stateless persons under gig contracts.
“Given that development of IT is one of our priorities, a Law on Stimulating the Development of the Digital Economy was adopted to ensure sustainable conditions that would facilitate development of the industry. It guarantees stability of the legal regime in Diia.City for 25 years. With this decision, the Government has resolved a legal conflict by allowing Diia.City residents to receive works or services of gig-specialists from among foreigners and stateless persons under gig contracts without obtaining a permit,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, the IT industry showed growth last year despite the full-scale war. Thus, according to preliminary estimates of the National Bank of Ukraine, the volume of exports of telecommunications, computer and information services in February-November 2022 increased by 4% YoY. The volume of exports of telecommunication, computer and information services in January-November 2022 increased by 7.3% amounting to $6.8 billion. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
