On January 9-15, the Customs Service collected over 446.4 million lei (about 22.3 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the institution, private people brought goods with the customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 8.3 million lei were collected, which represented 1.9% of the total amount.
Also, during the past week, 8,483 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 69,599 crossings.
In terms of the fight against fraud, 45 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 527 thousand lei were applied.
The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 816.2 million lei to the state budget, up by 18.3% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
