The law on the state budget for 2023 was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova on December 28.
The draft state budget law for the next year is based on an economic growth of 2%. Thus, next year, the state budget revenues will amount to 64.9 billion lei, up by 9.3% YoY, and the expenses will stand at 83.2 billion lei, up by 12.5%. The state budget’s deficit of 18.3 billion lei will be covered from domestic and external sources.
The value added tax is the most important source of income – over a half of all volume. The inflows of grants in the state budget next year are envisaged to amount to 5.5 billion lei, which accounts for 8.5% of all revenues.
In 2023, 154 projects financed from external sources will be carried out. The expenses for their implementation are estimated at 4.5 billion lei.
