On November 7-13, the Customs Service collected over 700.23 million lei (about 35.3 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the institution, private people brought goods into the territory of the country with the customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 18 million lei were collected, which represented 2.6% of the total amount collected for that period.
Also, 10,901 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 72,807 crossings.
In terms of fight against fraud, 47 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 246 thousand lei were applied. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 28.7 billion lei to the state budget, up by 19.6% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
