The Republic of Moldova has got a batch of 30 thousand doses of the 2022-2023 seasonal flu vaccine donated by The Task Force.
The vaccine is tetravalent (a dose of 0.5 ml) and was stored at the National Vaccine Warehouse of the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP) until distribution in the territorial subdivisions.
The composition of the vaccine corresponds to the recommendations of the World Health Organization for use in the northern hemisphere.
On October 11, ANSP received another batch of 188 thousand doses of GCFLU tetravalent influenza vaccine, with a dose of 0.5 ml in a pre-filled syringe, procured from the sources of the National Medical Insurance Company.
Both batches of vaccine are to be distributed to territorial public health centers, from where it will be transmitted, according to the existing immunization plans, to medical and sanitary institutions in the country for the vaccination of professional contingents and groups at increased risk of illness.
ANSP reiterates that vaccination is the safest and most effective method of preventing influenza. As in the previous flu season, simultaneous vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 infection is recommended. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
