The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will establish an Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine has reported.
“The Ministry for Strategic Industries has been selected as the main central executive body responsible for fulfilling the obligations arising from Ukraine’s membership in the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Work is underway to set up a UNIDO Office in Ukraine,” the report reads.
In particular, this will provide an opportunity to directly use the UNIDO’s technical, expert and financial capabilities to implement joint projects in Ukraine.
The Ministry for Strategic Industries is also working to create the Center for Certification of Products in Special Steels, Alloys and Metallurgy at the state-owned enterprise UkrNDIspetsstal. This should help increase the export of competitive metal products from special steels and alloys, certified according to international standards, the report said. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
