Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN has launched a $3.4-million 4-year project “Smart Farming for the Future Generation”. Organized with the financial support of the Republic of Korea, the project is also underway in Vietnam.
Three demonstration sites are to be created in Uzbekistan to build capacity, develop agribusiness opportunities and receive technical support.
The use of smart technologies is expected to allow farmers to grow a wide range of crops with high nutritional value all year round. Thus, the implementation of this project would increase the national potential in the field of greenhouse farming, improve the processes of post-harvest processing and food safety management.
