The conclusion of the Ukraine-Turkey Free Trade Agreement will help increase trade between the countries significantly.
“Traditionally, we have paid considerable attention to our trade and economic relations, and further liberalization of bilateral trade is important for them. Signing a free trade agreement can significantly increase its volume. We understand that this is a responsible step and it should be taken in accordance with national interests. Therefore, we have agreed that the relevant agencies of our countries will conduct a substantive audit of all disputes and find a mutual compromise that will pave the way for signing this important document,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said during a working visit to the Republic of Turkey.
Zelensky also informed about promising areas for Turkish investment in Ukraine.
“First of all, these are opportunities provided by large-scale privatization, in particular concerning seaports. In addition, our government recently approved a list of priority investment projects until 2023, including large-scale projects in infrastructure, transport, construction of airports and roads,” he noted.
The presidents of Ukraine and Turkey also discussed cooperation in the energy sector.
“Cooperation in the field of defense industry has significant prospects. We also discussed cooperation in the field of aircraft construction. Our goal is to implement specific projects, create joint ventures, exchange experience and technology,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that he welcomed the conclusion of an intergovernmental agreement on housing development cooperation.
“This makes it possible to build 500 apartments for the Crimean Tatar people and other internally displaced persons. And this is an important project that brings our people even closer, ” the President of Ukraine said. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
