BelAZ, the managing company of BelAZ holding company, intends to start selling dump trucks to Mexico in 2018.
“BelAZ is working hard to set up and develop a distributor and service network in Mexico. BelAZ Director General Piotr Parkhomchik paid a visit to this country on Match 11-13. He had a number of successful negotiations with Mexican customers who were ready to open their “doors” to BelAZ haul trucks with a payload capacity from 30 to 240 tons in 2018,” BelAZ representatives said.
“We have found a local partner, Mazon group of companies, together with Belaz North America, which is in charge of the Northern American market. The registration of a local representative office in Mexico is nearing completion. The office will be responsible for the promotion of and maintenance services for BelAZ-supplied products. The project to set up the office is estimated at $3 million,” BelAZ noted.
The company will be headquartered in Hermosillo, the capital of the state of Sonora. Along with automotive and aerospace industries, the city is developing mineral extraction.
Piotr Parkhomchik met with Sonora governor Claudia Pavlovich. The director general confirmed the intention to create new jobs, train and retrain local specialists who would be operating and maintaining BelAZ vehicles in Sonora and in Mexico in general.
Claudia Pavlovich reassured that BelAZ would get maximum support from the local authorities. She showed interest in visiting Belarus to learn more about possible options of cooperation in different fields.
