Livestock farms of the Turkmen Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management have been provided with the planned volume of winter fodder.
It was planned to collect 90,321 tons of various types of fodder.
To date, almost 92,000 tons of fodder have been collected, which is 102% of the plan.
In Turkmenistan, the harvest season starts in April and ends in late autumn.
The planned volume of the harvest, in addition to natural pasture grasses and camel thorn, reeds and others, includes fodder crops grown on specially allocated irrigated lands.
Livestock feed also comprises grains – barley, oats. Winter sowing is carried out in many livestock farms, and the seeds of winter cereals are often mixed with legumes to increase the nutritional value of the fodder. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
