Industrial production in Ukraine in August increased by 1.2% YoY, while in July it fell by 2.6%, the State Statistics Service has said.
The agency said taking into account adjustment for the effect of calendar days industrial production in August rose by 1.7% YoY.
The service said in relation to the previous month industrial production in August this year grew by 3%, and taking into account the seasonal factor by 2.2%.
According to the report, in general in the eight months of 2017 industrial production in Ukraine fell by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2016, while in the six months the gap was 0.7%.
A decrease of 6.5% was recorded in mining and quarrying industry, 5.9% in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, while a rise in processing industry was 3.5%.
As reported, industrial production in Ukraine in 2016 grew by 2.4% after a four-year decline: in 2015 it fell by 13%, in 2014 by 10.1%, in 2013 by 4.3%, and in 2012 by 0.7%. (Interfax-Ukraine/Business World Magazine)
