Prime minister Karen Karapetyan said that more flights would be operated from Shirak airport in the northern Armenian town of Gyumri, which would help develop tourism in the city.
In a Q&A session at the parliament, Karapetyan was responding to concerns raised by lawmaker from Tsarukyan bloc Vardan Ghukasyan.
Ghukasyan who was once the mayor of Gyumri, said that the city was going through dire straits.
Karapetyan agreed that Gyumri didn’t make full use of its tourism potential, but added that Kumayri project was aimed at reviving the sector in the city.
Besides, the PM said, more flights would be carried out from Shirak airport starting from October. (PanARMENIAN/Business World Magazine)
