Slavkaliy will sell its products only via Belarusian Potash Company (BPC), Slavkaliy’s Chairman of the Board Mikhail Gutseriyev reported.
When asked about possible cooperation with Uralkali, Mikhail Gutseriyev said: “We are going to work and sell only via Belarusian Potash Company. We are not going to compete with Belaruskali in any way.”
According to Mikhail Gutseriyev, investing in the charter capital of Belarusian Potash Company is off the table. It is necessary to build the Nezhinsky mining and processing factory first, he said.
“Investing is not on the agenda now. It is necessary to launch the process and start construction,” noted Mikhail Gutseriyev.
The Nezhinsky mining and processing factory will become the country’s second enterprise to extract potassium ore and produce potash fertilizers. It will be able to make up to 2 million tons of potassium per annum. As part of the investment project one mining facility will be built in addition to a processing plant, a gas turbine power plant for proprietary needs, railway infrastructure, access roads, housing infrastructure, and other kinds. The construction of the Nezhinsky mining and processing factory began in 2016. IOOO Slavkaliy is in charge of implementing the project. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
