According to the Customs Control Committee at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in July-April of 2016-2017 MY the shipments of Kazakh flour to China totaled 10.1 thousand tons, up by 145% YoY, and up 12-fold from July-April of 2014-2015 MY. At the same time, such growth figures moved China to the 5th position in the rating of importers of Kazakh flour during the first 10 months of the current season.
In addition, in July-April of 2016-2017 MY Afghanistan (1.24 million tons), Uzbekistan (537 thousand tons), Tajikistan (58.3 thousand tons) and Turkmenistan (29.3 thousand tons) formed the leading positions in the TOP-5 of Kazakh flour importers.
Afghanistan demonstrated a steady increase of flour purchases, due to the growing interest in 4- and 5-grades of flour. In the current season the deliveries to the country increased by 36% YoY and by 128% from the same period in 2014-2015 MY. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
