Ukraine’s petrochemical plant Karpatnaftokhim has resumed operations after five years of downtime, according to the company’s press service.
In late April, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that determined the plant’s annual quotas for raw materials exports exempt from excise duty, that is 1.07 billion liters of liquefied gas, 1.17 billion liters of straight-run gasoline, and 985 million liters of diesel fuel, the press service reports.
The processing of each part of said volumes can ensure the output of 250,000 tons of ethylene per year.
At the same time, the choice of raw materials will depend on the situation on mineral and commodity markets. In 2017, the main raw material used will be straight-run gasoline, at the same time the use of liquefied gas or diesel fuel is not being ruled out, the report said. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
