Since the beginning of 2017, Ukraine has sent most of its honey exports to the United States, totaling $12.6 million, the press service of the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry reports.
“The United States has been the major importer of Ukrainian honey during the period. The export deliveries of honey to this country came to $12.6 million, which is 34.03% of the total exports. In terms of the volume of honey exports, Germany ranked second ($8.5 million, or 22.99%) and Poland third ($3.7 million, or 9.97%),” the report states.
According to the data from the Ukrainian State Fiscal Service, Ukraine has exported 21.9 thousand tons of honey over the past four months, totaling $36.9 million. Meanwhile, Ukraine imported 6 tons of honey, totaling $24 thousand. Most honey imports came from the Czech Republic ($14 thousand, or 60.87%) and Lithuania ($7 thousand, or 30.43%).
Germany was the major importer of Ukrainian honey in 2016 (totaling 18.482 thousand tons). In general, Ukraine’s honey exports were sent to 19 European countries last year. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
