According to forecasts of the US Department of Agriculture, in the new season the harvest volumes of wheat in Kazakhstan will decrease by 13% YoY, to 13 million tons.
Domestic consumption of wheat will keep at the current season level – 6.9 million tons. A decline in wheat usage for seeds will compensate for growing rates in food consumption.
The USDA estimated the exports of Kazakh wheat at 7 million tons. Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China and Iran are the largest importers of Kazakh wheat. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
