The Belarusian confectionery factory Spartak is expanding its store chain in China, Spartak Deputy Director General Dmitry Korolenko reported.
Gomel-based factory Spartak opened its first store in Harbin in November 2016. In January two more stores opened their doors in Beijing and Shanghai. All three stores belong to Spartak’s partner from China. The stores sell the whole assortment of products made at the confectionery factory.
“We ship one railway container with sweets, waffles and cookies worth nearly $50,000 to Harbin every month. We hope that the same amounts will be shipped to new addresses as well,” Dmitry Korolenko said.
The huge Chinese market is a cherished dream of many producers. Those who start selling to China do their best to hold their footing there. Its own store chain will be a great boost for Spartak.
The confectionery factory Spartak was founded in 1924. It is one of the largest producers of confectionery products and semi-finished products in Belarus. It makes about 350 confectionery products, including products with medicinal properties. Spartak has exported its products virtually to all continents, including to the United States, Australia, South Africa and Singapore. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
