Gas stock in Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities (UGS), according to Naftogaz Ukrainy’s estimates, as of the beginning of March will amount to about 8 billion cubic meters, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers has said.
According to its report, Naftogaz provided relevant data at a meeting on the issue of providing the country with energy resources chaired by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.
“Naftogaz chairman Andriy Kobolev noted the situation with gas provision was stable. According to him, more than 11 billion cubic meters of gas are in UGS. It is expected that in late February – early March Ukraine will reach the figure of 8 billion cubic meters of gas, which is approximately equivalent to the figure in March 2014”, the press service of the government said.
Since the beginning of the heating season on October 13, 2016 and as of January 8, 2017 Ukraine has reduced natural gas stocks in its underground storage facilities by 22.2% (by 3.272 billion cubic meters), to 11.46 billion cubic meters. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
