The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) could in the coming weeks recommend the executive board to hold the third revision of the EFF program, IMF spokesperson Gerry Rice has reported.
“I don’t have the exact date of the meeting, but we expect it to be soon, in the coming weeks. And let me say why. Because we see good progress having been made on the policies needed to complete the third review under the IMF arrangement within the EFF program. We think the adoption of the 2017 budget of Ukraine is consistent with the program targets, the filing of asset declarations of high level officials and decisive safeguard actions to safeguard financial stability have been important so far. So the IMF staff have been in close contact with our partners in Ukraine on the remaining policy initiatives needed for the completion of the third review, including energy sector reforms and finalizing the memorandum of understanding in the policies regarding the timing of the upcoming measures. So, assuming all the remaining issues are resolved soon, we expect to propose the completion of the review to our executive board in the coming weeks”, he said. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
