Wheat exports from Kazakhstan continued growing in November 2016. Kazakh wheat exports totaled 415.3 KMT in the third month of the season, up by 25% YoY.
In Q1 2016/2017 (September-November) Kazakhstan exported 33.5% more wheat than at the same time last season: 1223.2 KMT and 915.9 KMT respectively.
The most active exports of Kazakh wheat continue to its traditional outlet markets: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
However, other important destinations also see growth. 26% more wheat was supplied to China in the period under review. Italy keeps boosting purchases of Kazakh wheat – it bought roughly 60 KMT of wheat in 2016/2017, up four times YoY.
Turkey, on the contrary, reduced wheat imports from Kazakhstan by 45% to 13.2 KMT in Q1 2016/2017.
Last year’s Kazakh wheat harvest of 16.5 MMT was the richest since 2011 (up by 20% YoY). (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
