Belarus is interested in processing Azerbaijani oil at its refineries, Gennady Ahramovich, Belarusian ambassador to Azerbaijan, said.
He said that this year Azerbaijan very timely delivered 85,000 tons of oil, which made it possible not to interrupt the production cycle of the Mozyr refinery.
“Belarus has two refineries – one in Mozyr city and one in Novopolotsk city, and these refineries have the technical capacity to manufacture oil products of Euro-5 and Euro-6 standard”, said Ahramovich. “Both sides are interested in Azerbaijani oil to be processed at Belarusian refineries, and then to be sold abroad in the form of high-quality oil products with added value”.
The ambassador didn’t disclose information regarding expected supplies of Azerbaijani oil to Belarus in 2017, and said that this issue was being resolved by oil companies of the two countries.
In October, Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company SOCAR supplied 84,700 tons of oil to the Mozyr Oil Refinery. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
