Acting head of the State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Slawomir Nowak has said that Poland’s experience in reforming the road sector would suit Ukraine.
“I would back on my experience in Poland. I think the ‘copy-paste’ policy would work here”, he said at a meeting at the American Chamber of Commerce in Kyiv.
When asked how much time it would take to conduct the reform, Nowak said that mainly this depended on red tape.
“In all European countries red tape is strong: many things depend on political will. I would cope with reform if I would have support of politicians. I see it from the infrastructure minister, prime minister and even president now. I was a politician in the past. I know how politics works. I hope that next year we will see some progress in the sector”, he said. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
