Baku may turn into an international hub for postal shipments from Asia to Europe, Director General of the Universal Postal Union Bishar Hussein reported.
Postal technologies are used for online shopping, he said.
Goods and services from the Far East, China, Indonesia, and all the other countries with tiger economies can now be delivered to Baku and then to the rest of Europe, he noted, adding that this business might bring in trillions of US dollars.
“I am very much encouraged by what I have seen here in Azerbaijan”, he said. “Postal organization is really very advanced and is providing good services”.
“Post office is modernized here”, he noted. “We are buying the same technologies to provide services”. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
