In 2015 Belarus’ state budget received the equivalent of $495 million thanks to the redistribution of import customs duties, Alexander Kurlypo, Head of the Central Office for Budget and Finance Control of the State Control Committee of Belarus, reported.
The official underlined that as the agency in charge of distributing import customs duties as well as equivalent duties, taxes, and fees the Belarusian Finance Ministry was fully committed to observing the relevant procedures. Alexander Kurlypo said that import customs duties were transferred to universal accounts and distributed between the budgets of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
Belarus is supposed to get 4.56% of the total. In the past Belarus received 4.7% but then the figure was adjusted in view of the admission of new member states. On the whole, the budgets of the Eurasian Economic Union member states received a total of $10.6 billion in import customs duties in 2015. In particular, Armenia received $111.3 million, Kazakhstan $767.1 million, Kyrgyzstan $54.3 million, and Russia got $9,171.9 million. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
