During 9 months of 2016 Kazakhstan supplied 1.6 million tons of flour to foreign markets, up by 36.2% YoY, the monitoring agency Energyprom.kz reported.
In particular, Kazakhstan exported 40.8% of the general flour volumes to the CIS countries (654 thousand tons), including 80.3% of the volumes to Uzbekistan (525 thousand tons). Kazakhstan exported the remaining 59.2% of the general flour volumes to other countries (950 thousand tons), including 98.7% to Afghanistan (937.5 thousand tons).
In monetary terms, the export volumes totaled $339.8 million (down by 2.6%).
According to the announcement, in the reporting period the production of flour and fine blends grew by 6.5%, to 2.9 million tons. In particular, Kostanay region produced 798.5 thousand tons of flour (up by 9% YoY), South Kazakhstan region – 582 thousand tons (up by 1.3%), Akmola region – 329.2 thousand tons (up by 32.5%).
Kazakhstan produced 2.7 million tons of wheat and rye-wheat fine-ground flour (up by 7.8%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
