Grain harvest in Ukraine in 2016 would total 64 million tons, Agricultural Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Taras Kytoviy has said.
“We expect that this year we would have a record-breaking harvest of 64 million tons with the average yield of 44 hundredweights per ha”, the minister said.
He said that the indicator was the highest in the whole history of Ukraine’s independence. The minister said that the highest figures were recorded in Vinnytsia (5.4 million tons), Odessa (4 million tons), Poltava and Kharkiv (around 4 million tons) regions. Winter crops are sowed on 7.4 million ha.
