Ukraine is ready to increase the shipment volumes of grains, flour, vegetable oils, dairy and meat products, sugar, confectionery products, organic products to Palestine, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi declared during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Palestine Sufian Sultan.
Sultan said that Palestine was interested in the imports of Ukrainian agricultural products through Israel, including cattle. Kutovyi noted that Ukraine was ready to accelerate the certification processes for Israeli permissions to transport Ukrainian cattle through the Israeli ports.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in 2015 turnover with agricultural products between Ukraine and Palestine totaled nearly $13 million. In particular, the exports from Ukraine totaled $13 million (up by 35% YoY), imports – $2 thousand (vegetables, plants, root crops). Ukraine mainly exported vegetable oils ($8 million) and flour ($4 million). During 7 months of 2016 exports totaled $6.8 million (down by 24% due to decreasing of vegetable oil supplies).
