Development of the exports of niche products, grains and oilseeds by-products from Ukraine is a priority for the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration Olga Trofimtseva declared.
According to her, small- and medium-scale farmers are the main players on the reporting market industries in Ukraine. But small- and medium-scale producers have to unite in cooperative clusters in order to increase their chances of conquering the international market. Foreign sellers actively defend their positions on international markets and consider the Ukrainian producers as rather significant competitors.
Trofimtseva added that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, together with representatives of food business, were actively working to develop the required mechanisms to diversify geographic sales markets of Ukrainian agricultural products.
