As of October 25, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 52.265 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 12.281 million ha, or 86% of the plan. The average yield totaled 4.26 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 52.58 million tons.
In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 13.283 million tons of the grain throughout 2.277 million ha (54%). The average yield reached 5.83 ton/ha.
Also, Ukraine harvested 187 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 147 thousand ha (98%). The average yield totaled 1.27 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 101 thousand ha (97%). The production volumes totaled 185 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.83 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 11.536 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 5.264 million ha (89%), with the average yield of 2.19 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 3.278 million tons of the oilseed throughout the areas of 1.507 million ha (82%), with the average yield of 2.17 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued realizing the planting campaign of winter grains. As of October 25, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 6.101 million ha (83% of the plan), up 71 thousand ha compared with the same date last year.
In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 5.359 million ha (86%), winter rye – 150 thousand ha (102%), and winter barley – 592 thousand ha (59%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 781 thousand ha (108%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
