The Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline project is synchronized with expiration of Russia’s gas transit contract with Ukraine in December 2019, Energy Minister Alexander Novak reported.
“Speaking of the Turkish Stream, the project’s implementation deadline is December 2019, which means that the infrastructure will be built until the end of 2019. It is in full synchronization with the contract between our Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrainy, which expires at the end of 2019”, Novak said.
On October 10, Russia and Turkey signed an agreement to build the pipeline, which would consist of two branches with a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters each. One of them is to supply gas to Turkey and the other to transit gas to the European countries through Turkey. (Prime/Business World Magazine)
