Malaysia’s oil and gas company Petronas will conduct exploration at the Goshadash structure in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, First Vice President of the Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusifzade said.
Yusifzade said that the exploration could be deepened in future, but currently general works, including seismic works, were underway.
“If the results of these works are good, we will start negotiations with Petronas”, he added.
The Goshadash structure is located in the North-Western part of the Absheron archipelago 15 kilometers from the coast and at a distance of 35-40 kilometers from Baku, where water depth is 10-50 meters.
Petronas has a 15.5% share in the development project of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz gas field and in the South Caucasus gas pipeline. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
