Another fifty-one state enterprises have been put up for privatization in Azerbaijan, the country’s State Property Issues Committee said.
Twenty-five of the enterprises put up for the auction are located in various districts of Azerbaijan, and 30-45% of shares of the controlling stake in the authorized capital of these enterprises are subject to privatization.
These joint stock companies operate in various sectors of economy – industry, construction, transport, services, etc.
Shares of 49 enterprises have been put up for sale with a 50% discount.
Twenty-six small state enterprises and facilities operating in the cities of Baku and Mingachevir, as well as Dashkesan, Gabala, Khachmaz, Gakh and Oguz districts have been also put up for the auction. They include companies operating in the sphere of services, trade, catering, car repairs, etc.
Auctions for the sale of these enterprises will be held on September 27. Applications for participation in the privatization process are also accepted in electronic form.
Earlier, some 195 joint stock companies were put up for privatization.
The first auctions within the framework of the new program for privatization of state property in Azerbaijan will be held on September 14 and 20. The main innovation is that potential investors, representatives of the press and the public will be able to watch the auction live. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
