Belarus’ petrol exports to Russia grew 19 times MoM in July to 27,034 tons, Kortes Business Analysis Centre said in a report citing railway transport statistics.
Belarus supplied 1,386 tons of automobile petrol to Russia in June.
The sharp increase in petrol supplies from Belarus to Russia was prompted by a decline in petrol prices in the Belarusian market, Kortes said.
In early July European Trading Company Ltd., the export trader of Mozyr NPZ oil refinery and Naftan oil refinery in Russia, would cut wholesale prices for their petrol to the level of Russian suppliers in the Central Federal District, and put up for sale large volumes of petrol at St Petersburg’s commodity exchange market.
With large volumes of Belarusian petrol appearing at commodity exchange markets in Russia, the market price of the Ai-92 petrol offered by Russian oil refineries dropped by 1,000-1,500 Russian rubles per ton in the first half of July. In mid July the price of Russian and Belarusian petrol stabilized at approximately the same level.
