Jizzakh cement plant completed implementation of the project on expansion of its production capacities up to 1 million tons a year.
The project cost is $35.8 million. Dal Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi A.S. (Turkey) participated in the project implementation.
It was financed through resources of the Fund for reconstruction and development of Uzbekistan in the amount of $14 million, own resources of AGMK ($9 million) and loans of Uzbek banks ($12.8 million).
Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) launched the plant on production of Portland cement and white cement in Zafarabad district of Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan in the end of March 2014.
The capacity of the plant makes up 350,000 tons of white cement and 760,000 tons of Portland cement a year. About 70% of products are exported.
The project with the cost of $114.2 million was financed through the loans of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan ($74.2 million) and AGMK own resources ($40 million).
In 2015, the enterprise produced 510,385 tons of cement. It exported 5,500 tons of white and 10,000 tons of Portland cement. The company plans to increase production to 650,000 tons of products. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
