Sumy, city in northeastern Ukraine, has received 850 energy efficient street lighting system lamps from UNDP for modernization of street lighting.
Deputy Director of the UN Development Program Blerta Cela gave a certificate for handing over these devices to the Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko on July 27 at Sumy city council.
“Sumy authorities are focusing now on energy saving steps. If we talk about the global trends of cooperation with the UNDP, this cooperation provides for an effective interaction to facilitate implementation of reforms, improvement of people’s living standards, poverty reduction, and human rights”, said the mayor.
