The national association of sugar producers Ukrtsukor has assessed sugar exports from Ukraine for 2015/2016 agricultural year (September-August) at 113,000 tons, up by 3% YoY.
According to the association, in money terms sugar exports in 2015/2016 agri-year totaled $52.6 million, not taking into account white sugar made from imported cane raw sugar on a tolling basis and imported outside Ukraine.
Ukrainian companies shipped 22,070 tons of sugar to Romania, 18,150 tons to Georgia, 13,370 tons to Azerbaijan, 10,380 tons to Kazakhstan and 8,700 tons of Sri-Lanka.
The largest exporter last season was Podillia, part of Ukrprominvest-Agro. The company supplied 21,720 tons worth $10.5 million. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
