The new facility of the Belarusian-Chinese car factory BelGee will start mass production in August, Belarusian First Deputy Industry Minister Gennady Svidersky said.
“We plan to conduct performance tests of the car-making plant in August. As many as 222 vehicles will undergo continuous testing. In August we will start mass production and will begin exporting the cars,” Gennady Svidersky remarked.
The pilot batch of cars was assembled in June. Gennady Svidersky underlined that the production equipment tested well. The range of cars is targeted at different price ranges.
The new plant near the town of Borisov will be able to assemble 60,000 cars per annum. The plant has already launched the production of the Geely Emgrand X7 crossover, the Geely SC7 sedan, and the Geely LC Cross hatchback. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
