The metro stations on General Vladimir Vazov Boulevard – Georgi Asparuhov Stadium, Vitinya, and Gen. Vladimir Vazov – on Line 3 of the Sofia Metro are 98% complete and are expected to open in July. Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev announced this on Facebook. Comprehensive testing of the trains is expected to be completed in May.
The opening of the new section will provide faster and more convenient transportation for residents of the Hadzhi Dimitar, Suhata Reka, and Levski G neighborhoods to the city center and the western Sofia neighborhood of Gorna Banya.
Once the General Vladimir Vazov Boulevard section is completed, the Sofia Metro’s total length will reach 55 km and include 50 stations. The number of metro passengers is expected to exceed 500,000 per day. (Novinite)
