On February 26, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on Technical and Financial Cooperation.
The agreement aims to create framework conditions for attracting technical and financial assistance from the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.
In particular, the document defines the types and forms of assistance (transfer of know-how, training, consulting, supply of equipment and materials, introduction of new technologies, provision of grants), as well as the mechanism for approving technical and financial assistance projects.
“The agreement opens a new page of closer cooperation between Ukraine and Slovenia. It will contribute to the implementation of reforms in the field of European integration, sustainable economic and social development, as it will enable the development and implementation of projects in a number of areas: from infrastructure modernization and energy efficiency to agriculture, telecommunications, and education support,” commented Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
The target areas for cooperation under the Agreement are: infrastructure modernization, urban development, and energy efficiency; conflict prevention and resolution, peace and security; science, research, technology, and innovation; agriculture, green transition, environmental protection; water supply and sanitation; energy; telecommunications; decentralization, modernization of public administration and local self-government; development of democratic institutions, rule of law; improvement of social policy; health care, including medical rehabilitation programs; promotion of economic recovery, attraction of investments; support for education, etc. (Government portal)
