“Ural Airlines” announced the launch of a “unique for Russia” project to extend the service life of Airbus A320 family aircraft beyond 96 thousand flight hours. The work will be carried out at the carrier’s own aviation-technical center. In a press release from the company’s press service, which was noted by “Agency”, it is noted that “there are no analogues of such a comprehensive program in the country”. However, experts warn that repairs in centers that are not certified by the manufacturer carry risks to flight safety.
From the fall of 2026, the airline’s specialists will begin the complete disassembly, diagnostics, repair of airframes and the final assembly of aircraft. The company calls this a “logical continuation” of the development of its own engineering competencies and a “big step forward for the entire domestic aviation”. In parallel, the design of workshops for the repair of fuel, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is underway (The Moscow Times).
