The team of the Ministry of Strategic Industries held a working meeting with representatives of the Agency for Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic.
The parties discussed the exchange of military technologies and the development of joint projects. In particular, the joint production of Czech BREN-2 rifles. It is worth reminding that the agreement on licensed assembly of rifles was signed on July 16, 2024 between Ukroboronprom and Ceska zbrojovka, a subsidiary of Colt CZ. The actual assembly began in November 2024.
The meeting also discussed joint production of ammunition. In particular, large-calibre artillery ammunition in cooperation with a Ukrainian private company and small-calibre ammunition with Ukroboronprom.
“Ukroboronprom and the Ministry of Strategic Industries are key partners of our industrial sector, as well as our ministry. We appreciate their partnership and, together with Denmark and the Netherlands, we are working side by side on a number of projects that will help Ukraine repel this barbaric aggression and gradually become independent,” said Ales Vytecka, Director of the Agency for Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation.
The issue of supplying critical components for the production of ammunition in Ukraine is currently being worked on, so the meeting discussed strengthening this area. The parties also discussed potential opportunities and specific projects that could deepen cooperation between the defence industries of Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
“The Czech Republic is our strategic partner and we are pleased to have strong cross-sectoral ties. We already have the first results of joint projects and are working on scaling them up. We are grateful to the Czech business for its willingness to cooperate with Ukrainian defence companies and to the Czech government for maintaining this cooperation at a high level. This is of great value to us,” said Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. (Government portal)
