Ukraine is ready to join consultations with the European Commission regarding the transit of Lukoil oil, if the appropriate mechanism is applied. The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry Heorhii Tykhyi at a briefing.
According to Tykhyi, Ukraine highly values cooperation with the European Union, Hungary, Slovakia and other EU member states, and welcomes their contribution to the implementation of sanctions against Russia, deterrence against aggression and regional cooperation.
“The provisions of the corresponding decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine concern only the commercial activities of Lukoil PJSC on the territory of Ukraine. The only thing I can add is that we confirm our readiness to join the consultations under the early warning mechanism in accordance with the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement if the European Commission makes such a decision to apply this annex,” the diplomat said.
