Residents of the frontline territories will be able to harvest firewood for household needs free of charge. The Government has made a corresponding decision.
Residents of the territories where military operations are ongoing / have been ongoing will be able to harvest fuel wood for household needs free of charge. This refers to the logging residues that remain after felling.
Wood harvesting will be possible provided that it is safe to stay in the respective forest areas.
Local military administrations (local self-government bodies) will inform the population about the possibility of independent wood harvesting.
This provision will be in force during the legal regime of martial law and for 6 months from the date of its termination or cancellation.
The relevant act was developed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources pursuant to the instruction of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal following his working visit to Donetsk region. It was also developed in pursuance of the protocol instruction of the meeting on humanitarian response in Kharkiv region, which was chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
