Eight companies have got grants to green businesses. Their managers have signed funding contracts with the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation (ODA) to benefit from grants awarded by the Moldovan government and co-financed by the European Union under the Small and Medium Enterprises Greening Programme. The winners will receive non-reimbursable funding worth 2.6 million lei and will invest around 5 million lei in the country’s economy.
The entrepreneurs have access to non-reimbursable financial support of up to 500 thousand lei (25 thousand euros) to invest in environmental protection measures. The measures include preventing and reducing water pollution by installing water treatment plants and modern machinery that will reduce the company’s consumption of natural resources.
So far, the Moldovan Government and the European Union have provided through the Greening SMEs non-reimbursable financial support worth about 10 million lei for the implementation of actions aimed at pollution prevention and water resources management in various enterprises. (Moldpres)
